Dubai
Can anyone recommend a good hotel for adults and kids for next spring? Cheers

Re: Dubai
I knew two good friends who both lived in Dubai and found hanged in dubious circumstances. Both left behind families with children one was a successful top lawyer.

Sharia Law, torture et al if arrested mistakenly or otherwise, questions asked later and no financial incentive from UK government will change it as they have plenty, it has a dark side, still it's only a holiday what could go wrong.

Re: Dubai
I'd recommend blowing Dubai out and going the extra 45 minutes to Muscat - depends on what you're planning to do, of course, but Muscat has all that Dubai has to offer without the lairy expats shouting their mouths off......

One or two on the big name chain hotels have private beaches/golf courses and the like and the locals are really helpful & friendly: Grand Mosque and Opera House for the tick-box tourists, loads of old forts, an Arabic version of the Grand Canyon and if you're unlucky enough to get rain during your stay, a normally bone-dry wadi in full flood is quite a spectacle.

All the bigger hotels will put the football on.

45 minutes south is Salalah, which is really beautiful - almost a miniature tropical forest (but most hotels are "dry"),

Re: Dubai
Fuck me, next springs a long time off.

Anyway, when I went I stayed at the Media Montana, decent enough hotel, but also because they have a pub called Nelson's on the ground floor and the Dubai Hammers meet in there for every game, you'll also get a chip butty at half time!
